Why doesn’t someone compute the huge upswing in obesity in America, in part, to quitting smoking? Everyone I know who was a heavy smoker gained lots of weight when he or she quit? Both food and tobacco are great tranquilizers. Unfortunately, marijuana does not quell the appetite, or lots of people would be thinner than they are now. Maybe some of the obesity is a result of cases of munches brought on by all that grass.

One Response to “Smoking”

Maybe! I just read that researchers discovered that not only do cigarettes calm the nerves and keep the mouth busy (cutting down on eating), the ingredients in cigarettes speed up the metabolism (burn calories), AND work on the brains of smokers to motivate them to be more active!
